About the Organisation

This position sits within the Municipal Nursery operated by Hamilton City Council.  The site is Located near Hamilton Gardens and it’s been there since the 1950’s.  The Nursery produces a staggering half a million plants annually used across the city – from revegetation and gully planting projects, to traffic islands, ornamental parks and lakesides, and street trees.

Your Role 

Next door to the Hamilton Gardens, our nursery makes an important contribution to the city’s natural landscapes, propagating a range of plants – annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs.

We have an opportunity for a positive Nursery Worker who is keen to get stuck in and work as a part of the HCC Nursery team to ensure bedding production and tree/shrub production targets are met.

To be successful in this role you will have a can-do attitude and be passionate about the plants we grow, be able to prioritise workloads and work effectively without supervision.  A background knowledge in horticulture would be an advantage but is not essential, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals.

Salary & Benefits

The recruiting range for this role starts at $27.80 per hour and could be negotiated for the right candidate.  This is a Fixed Term seasonal position for approximately 6 months, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
