Your role
Description
J&J is searching for a Third Party Risk & Translation Intern to join their Global Services Finance Risk & Compliance team from mid-May to early August 2024. The intern will act as a language translator (in any of the following: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Russian) in aid of compliance work. The intern will also perform a sanction screening process and anti-money laundering bribery and corruption due diligence process as part of the third-party risk management program.
This role supports and maintains procedures and controls to mitigate compliance risk. Key areas of support provided to team members include; risk management, communications, audits, training, process capability/process improvement, and compliance general support.
Key activities
Translate Vendor's Names from Chinese / Korean / Japanese / Russian to English
Reconcile, and consolidate information, when necessary to arrive at the completed Vendor Master Data (VMD) list per country, per sector and work with the VMD Team as necessary to ensure the accuracy of vendor information.
Perform data quality validations and database reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Perform due diligence process for Third parties before their activation in the Master Data & existing Third parties following a risk-based approach.
Perform Data Cleansing for assigned ASPAC countries or assist in cleansing for other regions when necessary.
Update the Excel databases with the metrics / KPIs for tracking purposes.
Perform assigned ad hoc tasks or projects related to Third Party or Sanctions Compliance Program.

About you
To apply for this role, you need to possess these qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in language, business administration, Finance, Accounting, or any related field
Required to have proficient working knowledge of ANY of the following languages: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Russian
Advantageous, but not required to have Finance background knowledge
Excellent communication skills in English – written and verbal.
Amenable to working onsite at our Paranaque office at least 3x a week; Remote on other days.
Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing
Proactive, results-driven, and detail-oriented
Strong analytical, problem-solving, sound judgment, and decision-making skills
Good knowledge of MSOffice Tools i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Learning agility, and adaptability to change with a growth mindset
