He or she shall perform direct nursing care procedures which include bedside nursing, hygiene, pre and post-operative nursing care, admission and discharge duties. He or she shall also be in charge of the monitoring, recording and reporting of patient's symptoms, condition and progress of the treatment and therapy. The incumbent shall assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as well as the administration of medications. He or she must participate in conducting research studies and observe data confidentiality.

1. Utilizes assessment skills and techniques to determine patient’s problems and needs.
2. Develops and documents the plan of care based on patient’s condition/needs.
3. Carries out the plan of care according to priority.
4. Provides safe and comprehensive care according to standards.
5. Performs direct nursing care procedures which include bedside nursing, hygiene, pre and post-operative nursing care, admission, and discharge duties.
6. Monitors, records, and reports patient’s symptoms, condition, and progress of treatment and therapy.
7. Administers medications following the golden rules.
8. Prepares patients for, and assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
9. Assists in the education and rehabilitation of patients and their families related to physical and mental health.
10. Conducts/ participates in research studies.
11. Maintains the confidentiality of patient’s data.
12. Coordinates with other sections in the hospital regarding patient care.
13. Performs other related functions.
