Treasury Operations is responsible for safeguarding the cash assets of the Company through a robust control environment and excellence in operational execution on a global basis.
The Process Optimization Specialist will support business process re-engineering efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline, centralize, consolidate, eliminate and automate business processes and controls across Treasury Operations globally. This specialist will help solve business problems, build improved processing capabilities, create efficiencies in the processes while aligning with internal and external regulatory and compliance requirements, to achieve Manulifeโs strategic priorities of delivering cost efficiencies, managing with resiliency and becoming a digital customer centric organization.
The specialist will also help conduct current and target process and controls analyses, analyze data, write requirements and specifications, analyze pain-points and their impact to Treasury Operations workflows, execute process improvement initiatives impacting Treasury Operations Infrastructure, conduct training within Treasury Operations and Business Units, as required.
This role requires strong problem solving, analytical, presentation and communication skills.
Support end-to-end business process re-engineering activities across all Treasury Operations capabilities (Cash Ops, Governance, Compliance & Controls and Project Delivery
Document and analyze current state systems and business processes, and clearly document data and process flows
Identify process pain points and inefficiencies, present potential process improvement (including automation) ideas
Support design of target state processes and controls, including documenting target states
Document, track, control, and resolve pain points and process issues; and leverage on automation ideas to manage challenges and risks.
Lead and facilitate effective meetings to facilitate decision making and drive initiatives forward; present complex ideas clearly to different stakeholders and recommend target process options based on data-driven assessments
Deliver training to users in response to process changes, new product/system implementations
Work collaboratively with a broad group of stakeholders (Operations, Technology and Business units) and develop productive working relationships with key business partners
Ensure proper change management is in place as NA Treasury Operations transitions from the current to the target state.
Assist to build and drive action plans to ensure organizational readiness as Treasury Operations transitions to target state processes. Act as Treasury Operationsโ Subject-Matter-Expert in Treasury Operationsโ system solutions, end-to-end business processes and related controls.
Assist Transformation/Automation in defining test plan, test matrices, test scenarios and test cases
Assist Transformation/Automation Team in the design and development of tools by leveraging existing tools such as Alteryx, SharePoint, PowerBi, etc.
Investigate, analyze and define operational problems and identify risks
Research and analyze improvement opportunities, recommend options, and implement solutions to improve processes and controls
Implement automation initiatives including warranty support
Support ad-hoc analysis to identify root cause of issues and resolve issues in a timely manner
Develop and implement metrics to support project prioritization, reporting and measuring success
Experience in areas of business process and data analysis, system testing and automation
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and comfortable with complex issues, concepts and with ambiguity
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including presenting in large group settings and to senior management, ability to influence stakeholders and drive decision making
Strong experience with business process re-engineering in Financial services
Experience in operating model design, transformation, Lean Six Sigma preferred
Able to effectively articulate complex problems and concepts in an easy-to-understand way
Able to quickly learn complex concepts, processes, systems and technologies via self-directed investigation, and understand the dependencies between data, systems and processes
Experience with data mapping analysis, specifications, and testing
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel; experience with using and writing Excel macros an asset
Experience with Power BI an asset
Experience in using Alteryx is required
Able and willing to step into tasks outside of their own role if and when needed
