Career Prospects at Woodside Energy

It's slow.

Time and playing the game.

Department has a reputation for slow promotions compared to others which was counterbalanced by the WES prior to its removal...

I am familiar with the roles but unsure of the pathways other than graduating to a staff role after the grad program

In the graduate program, you are 'promoted' every year and get a pay increase. However, after the graduate program, I have heard it's hard to get promotions and pay increases.

The 3 years grad program will really help you to find your career pathway and where you passion and intention will be as a new-born youth professional as you can learn different roles and knowledges via the rotation.

I haven't been around long enough to comment, but I know there is oppertunity.

There is plenty opportunities to grow within Woodside. My personal aspirations are not filled by my current role nor do I currently see a technical role that I would love in Woodside.

No line of sight on career progression, can't move roles internally if your manager can't find a replacement for you (this has happened multiple times), limited growth opportunities at company, limited mentoring focus

as a grad... very good, grads are future leaders, use you mentors, do well, ask for responsibilities, do well when given opportunities.

Career progression looks good after the Grad Program. The 3-year Grad program is too structured, and for people with work experience is slow.

Haven't encountered any as a grad

Regular promotion each year throughout program, then promotion off the program if >90% of competencies have been achieved

Graduate's typically get promoted every year but this is also subjected to the individual's performance.

There is alot of growth opportunities, and a large amount of promotion opportunities. However, it is important to have a development plan and make your aspirations know to your capability and development managers.

eroding career progression / support.

You have to stick with your 3 years of grad program even though if you have experience/ or have capabilities. Grads are not allowed to even apply for internal roles and hire based on capabilities unless you cross your 3 year mark.

During the merger it has become very unclear what career progression is available

Promotion possibilities are up to the individual.

Opportunity to move outside of your immediate skillpool to develop and progress. You can also be promoted through a technical pathway or a team leadership pathway.
