WTW

At WTW, we help the world’s biggest organizations make forward-thinking choices about their people, their investments and the risks they face.

Our expertise and advice make them stronger and more successful. We also support them to improve their people’s health, skills and financial wellbeing. You’ll be part of this impact, right from the start.

What does the Retirement team do?

The Retirement Business Consultancy at WTW helps organizations with retirement plan set up, actuarial valuations, plan governance and administration services, employee communications and other retirement consulting services.

As a top provider of retirement consulting and actuarial services in the Philippines, we have unparalleled experience assisting many of the country's largest retirement plan sponsors. Our in-depth knowledge in dealing with various types of pension arrangements, complemented by the breadth and scope of our service team in handling administration work for other countries in Asia Pacific, allows us to consistently deliver best practices and top-notch service quality.

The opportunities and support available

Our Intern Programme is designed for penultimate-year and final-year university students. It is currently expected that the duration of the internship will be three months.

We operate a hybrid working environment (i.e. a mixture of working in the office and at home). In order to get the most out of the Intern Programme at WTW, you will be expected to come into the office at least one day each week.  In addition to the scheduled in-office training and meetings about projects and client work, this will give you the opportunity to learn from your more experienced colleagues, as well as getting to know your fellow interns.

An internship at WTW will give you valuable real-world experience. It will enable you to apply your education in an environment that is both intellectually challenging and rewarding. At the end of your time with us, you will have a greater understanding of what we do and how closely our career offerings match your career ambitions.

As a Retirement Intern, you will enhance your core skills and expand your actuarial knowledge through hands-on experience in management of retirement programs, generating actuarial results, and report preparation. You will work with valuation software and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, funding and implementation and management of retirement programs
  • Preparing and assist with delivery of client deliverables
  • Competitive benchmarking analysis of benefit plan designs
  • Perform annual pension valuations for a variety of clients
  • Assist with completion of plan reporting

As an intern in the Retirement team, you’ll need good numerical and communication skills, the ability to plan work effectively and a strong desire to solve challenging, technical problems. You’ll develop consulting skills so that you can help clients understand and manage their pension risks.

Mentored by experienced leaders in the Retirement Team, this role offers an excellent opportunity for learning and potential full-time employment.

Our community

Regardless of which of our offices you join, you’ll be part of the bigger WTW community, and will be able to contribute to our fundraising and community activities, our inclusion and diversity networks as well as our sporting and social groups. We are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment, enriched by our people, our clients, and the communities in which we work and live.

Learning and Development

We provide continuous professional development to all our colleagues. For interns specifically, we provide:

  • An induction process where you can learn what our business does, what resources are available, and who the other new interns are.
  • On-the-job experiences allowing you to see the immediate impact of your work.
  • Opportunities to work on a diverse range of projects with experienced professionals.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a penultimate-year or a final-year student pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related field, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office tools, attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities are essential. Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach are required, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Completion of actuarial courses like Theory of Interest or Life Contingencies and passing one or more actuarial exams are advantageous.

The Application Process

Stage 1: Online application, including CV.

Stage 2: Invitation to complete a video interview – HireVue Assessment

Stage 3: Interview – this is an opportunity for you to meet with members of the team and for the team to understand your strengths, preferences and motivations. The interview will take place virtually, and there will be plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions.

Stage 4: Offer and acceptance.

Stage 5: Keeping in touch including office visit and contact with a member of the team you will be joining.

Stage 6:  On-boarding.
