Macquarie's Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across Macquarie. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. RMG personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed.

The Compliance division within RMG is seeking an analyst to join our team. The role will involve working with colleagues in RMG and other business groups to deliver solutions which manage our external obligations and allow Compliance to effectively manage risk.

As a member of the Compliance division, you will be responsible for:

  • Compliance systems administration services.
  • Starters/Transfers/Leavers monitoring for Licensing and CPD/CPT (training) reconciliations and management.
  • Monitoring and reviewing of employee compliance activities in accordance with the compliance monitoring programme
  • PTA Certification Breach monitoring and follow ups via email.
  • Providing support to staff on their individual license application
  • Responding to enquiries
  • Execute Consequence Management Program
  • Creating reports for management information as necessary
  • AdHoc data entry and reporting
  • Ensuring high level of accuracy and customer service are maintained in performing job responsibilities.
  • Assist in other compliance tasks as required to ensure team objectives are achieved.
  • Managing conflicts of interest by reviewing and approving staff's declared outside business activities

To be successful in the role the candidate will be required to have:

  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to manage through the day today deadlines.
  • Analytical and investigative mindset, attention to detail with relevant experience working with technology-based solutions.
  • The ability to develop relationships across various stakeholders, including local and regional advisory Compliance staff, ITG and the business.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to concentrate for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to multi-task, be self-directed, prioritize and work to deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality.
  • The ability to interpret complex verbal information, with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Tenacity and flexibility
  • Proven ability to work well as part of the team.
  • Some audit or assurance experience would be highly valued.

Key skills requirements are:

  • Good time management and document preparation skills
  • Strong attention to details and accuracy
  • Effective at managing tasks through to completion
  • Ability to work autonomously on allocated tasks with the ability to escalate issues and clearly and concisely where necessary.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Problem solving skills
  • Intermediate/strong Microsoft Office skills – Outlook, Excel and Word
