I chose Risk Assurance as I wanted a role in a company that I knew would be on top of current trends and challenges in technology and in the work they do.
In Risk Consulting, we do a variety of work. I predominantly use data analytics to inform investigations, identify anomalies and facilitate program management.
I currently work as a Senior Accountant on large and mid-sized assurance engagements with expertise in banking and capital markets, insurance and asset management.
In tax law, there are lots of abstract concepts and the legislation can be quite convoluted at times. This means that analytical and logical deduction is essential.
I am employed as an Assurance Associate completing external Audits. My role is to work with clients to ensure there are no material misstatements in their financial statements.
Despite my background being in engineering, I chose to go into consulting because I wanted a role that really gave me the opportunity to interact with and learn from others.

I get to learn new things every day, which means my job is never boring. It’s also a very hands-on role, where I get to work directly with clients, grow my skills and see the impact of what I do.
