Since I've been given 3 projects to lead, my day-to-day responsibilities are to look after them. I don't have tasks that merely assist or operationalize, instead I strategize and plan towards the completion of my projects within a given timeline.

Pros and cons of working at Unilever Philippines

Pros

  • The company has a good culture. It also provides employees with great benefits along with a good wage.

  • Apart from working with intellectual and capable people, the flexibility of hours is one of the best things about working at Unilever.

  • Unlimited career opportunities including working in multicultural teams and in roles abroad, fast-paced and exciting work environment where you are a maker of the leading edge products.

  • The company's culture in the office is vibrant while serious. Most of the time people are focusing on their work and the deadlines they need to meet.

  • There are a lot of workshops that I can enroll for at Unilever. Workshops that are mainly focused on hard and technical skills that I can use at work.

Cons

    • High volume of work.

    • As a management trainee, the constant moving from one role to another, not allowing myself to fully grow and establish myself in a role and mastering the ins and outs of it.

    • Because it's such a large organization - the bureaucracy.

    • Due to it being one of the bests in the industry especially when it comes to finance the expectations might sometimes be too high.

    • Living in Manila one is not immune to the horrible traffic of the country, making the commute to and from work much worse than it should be.
