The Unilever Future Leaders Programme is a three-year accelerated leadership programme/management trainee programme where fresh graduates and young professionals are fast-tracked into readiness for leadership roles. The programme is open to all graduating students in 2023 and professionals with a maximum of two years of work experience.
Unilever is one of the largest global fast-moving consumer goods companies that owns some of the world’s much-loved brands such as Dove, Axe, Rexona, Close Up, Pond’s, Clear, Sunsilk, Cream Silk, Breeze, Domex, Magnum, Knorr, Best Foods and more. Our products sold under our many brands are used 2 billion times a day and in over half the households on the planet. We want our business to flourish, and we know that our success depends on others flourishing around us. That is why our purpose is to make sustainable living commonplace, and why sustainable, long-term growth is at the heart of our business model.
As the dedicated foodservice business of Unilever, Unilever Food Solutions leads the industry in providing innovative and high-quality professional food ingredients and value adding services created by our professional chefs. Covering 50 cuisines, in 200 million dishes a day. Our teams on the ground are working with customers around the world to make their menus relevant to local guests, whether that’s meeting the need for healthy, delicious, guilt free dining experiences, localizing a global offering, or bringing the world’s most exciting cuisines to home markets.
To win and lead in the food service industry, you’ll work on connecting our customers to our brands such as Selecta, Knorr, and Lady’s Choice, to drive category growth by building partnerships with a wide range of customers. That could mean working together to maximize a new product launch, recommending the right range of food products, developing marketing programs, negotiating an annual business plan, or looking for new business opportunities
You don’t need a specific degree background – this is an area where your personality will set you apart. It takes a special blend of ambition, people skills and commercial acumen; you’ll need to be credible and confident in front of people and have a passion for growing businesses, coupled with the power to influence and negotiate. Of course, working in Unilever Food Solutions, we’re looking for people with a passion for food!
The three-year, world-class development programme is packed with variety and challenge, with the opportunity of promotion to manager level after 3 years. You’ll develop your individual leadership skills by working on live projects which offer you all the experience you need to become ready for your first management role. Over three years, you will cover up four to six placements with both Unilever Food Solutions Marketing and Customer Development. And before the three years ends, you will get the opportunity to have international work experience as one of your rotations.

Since I've been given 3 projects to lead, my day-to-day responsibilities are to look after them. I don't have tasks that merely assist or operationalize, instead I strategize and plan towards the completion of my projects within a given timeline.
There is a balance between operations work and projects. I can propose and work on passion projects.

High volume of work.
As a management trainee, the constant moving from one role to another, not allowing myself to fully grow and establish myself in a role and mastering the ins and outs of it.
Because it's such a large organization - the bureaucracy.
Due to it being one of the bests in the industry especially when it comes to finance the expectations might sometimes be too high.
Living in Manila one is not immune to the horrible traffic of the country, making the commute to and from work much worse than it should be.
